As far as I know from Manitoba West the old 244" max wheelbase law is still in effect. You can permit longer with legal loads but can not permit any sort of osow...
I can guarantee his truck is +244".

Razororange, Oxbow and cke Thank this.

Nah they've lightened up a bit on that. I've gotten a Manitoba permit with my big trailer and my tractor at 264". Guy we bought it from runs a 13 axle w 255" tractor up into AB often.

BC is the only one I don't know about. I've had the AB and BC tractor WB permits in the past and they always reduced the max trailer wheelbase as the tractor got longer.

cke, Oxbow and old iron Thank this.

It never did make any sense. They run B trains everywhere, pull twin 53'rs across the prairies. But limit tractors to 244" Lol.
Especially since most setback 244 have enough nose hanging off the front they are the same overall length as a 260" set forward to begin with...

Looks like a tandem tractor is still 6.2 meters or 244".

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.

Twin steer isn't all that common. Usually only see them as mixers, bed trucks or stinger cranes.

    cke and Oxbow Thank this.
