But we all do agree the steer wheels have to be pointing a certain direction to a certain degree at a certain time to make the trailer go a certain place? I'm not worrying about the game but having fun with it. :p

I never placard my tractor.. just the trailer. Real life practice and experience is the best teacher. That simulator is fun, but way to calm of a setting. Need some other trucks waiting for you to get done so they can dock , and or some impatient 4-wheelers that have to go now. You are holding them up, blocking their street.

The trouble is American infrastructure is often not very truck friendly but every dam fool wants their goods in a hurry at the store. Don't you wish all customers would have their facilities highly efficient for trucks to dock? The trouble is ignorance. Trucks would be more appreciated if public schools stressed their importance to society to children as well as the importance of oil production, mining, farming, ranching, railroads, ships and forestry. Most American motorists see trucks as a dangerous nuisance that gets in the way.

We need ambassadors of the trucking industry to spread the appreciation for the services of drivers. The general public needs much more training. Congress needs more understanding. You guys all need a union and a lobby badly.

That isn't hard. Who was the idiot that doesn't know how to use the area properly. That's like at least a once a week back for flatbed.

no game can give you depth perception nor the feel if you rub up against another trailer. nor can it show you how much space you actually have.

playing videos games is just that...playing games.

this ain't no video game...in the real world of trucking, people lose thier jobs, and often get blackballed.

in video games, all you do is "reset"

I logged many hours playing those games. There is no comparison to driving an actual truck. Even the $250,000 simulator at the driving school doesn't come close to comparing.

This simulator could be a great tool for someone who thinks backing a truck up is easy. Just as the trucking schools use simulators, this will help, too. It will not replace real world experience but it will build confidence and show someone what they are doing wrong.

i do not believe that there are many, or any at all trucking schools that have simulators.

I was suprised the college I went to had one. And their driver training program consisted of 2 instructors, 2 tractor trailers and 1 dump truck.
