Let me guess because of rates last year you thought "how hard could it be" to run your own truck and make the big dollars.
Whats that payment on that Volvo? $2000/mo? $2500?
How many years in the trucking industry do you have?rank, Opendeckin, xairx and 1 other person Thank this. -
Volvo monthly payment $1500/mo.
5 Year trucking industry.jamespmack and Socal Xpress Thank this. -
Have you tried Landstar, Schnieder, J B Hunt 360,Mercer.There are a thousand companies out there looking for O/O. And if all else fails take the truck back and find a company job.

Well you have about 4yrs more experience that I figured you had, which is good. But if you have to ask how to start running your own freight after being a driver for 5yrs, then it might not be in your best interest to go that route. Being in Canada, I know its different than the US, but getting your own operating authority should not be a last ditch effort before you file bankruptcy, lose your truck, etc.

Hell they dont, I know there is Windsor Land Star broker.

Can you give the truck back to the dealership? If you tell them you lost your dedicated account and cannot pay for it they will probably let you out of the lease and take it back. It is cheaper than trying to find the truck and reposess it.
If you do go bankrupt, the smaller your debts, the better. Having the truck off of your credit lines would help you to save some of your other assets.
I think your english skills will be a problem in being under your own authority. There are many complex regulations and requirements you will need to be able to read, understand and comply with. I think It may be smarter for you to lease onto an honest MC# if you do want to stay in trucking. Someone that can understand all the details.
I am not trying to pick on you. There is no way i could start a business in a foreign language.rabbiporkchop, dunchues and xairx Thank this. -
Company drivers by and large have NO authority or standing to broker a load direct. That is strictly the company's area.
Now if the OP is a owner operator with his own authority to book loads etc then why are we even here?
The rest of it I'll leave to someone else. There was just enough English for me to comprehend just the broker thing. All the rest of it requires support higher than my pay grade. (Which is zip.)Intothesunset Thanks this.
