So YRC spends 25 million per month in fuel, and 25 million per year in tolls??

"For trucks, predictability of shipments would be greatly enhanced, with the potential for drafting and platooning, not to mention the safety of separating the cars and the trucks," Pence said.

If you force trucks into certain lanes it will be the slowest truck deciding the time it takes to get there.

And 'the potential for drafting and platooning' is a very dangerous concept.
My Qualcom glitches all the time. All it takes is losing a signal for a small amount of time, and the thing has no idea of where it is at.
Skating on thin ice is what it is.

not gonna happen, not enough land available, unless the feds take land by emanate domain.

it'll be costly to buy up what land IS available.

it'll just be better to TOLL everyone, rather than ONE segment of road users.

First of all....the ATA represents megas and always has their intrests in hand. I'm sorry if your trucks pay that much in tolls. Sucks to be you. There are alternatives.
Second...if you think for one minute that you're gonna get tax money away from lawmakers, you're delusional.

Just wait until tmc gets in front of u or prime or raider express! What a #### show that would be. Its bad enough when we have cities that have no trucks left lane or left 2 lanes. And its alot of truck traffic. Take i35 from say dallas to san antonio for example. That has to be one of the biggest cluster ####s in the country. I dont think these governement people really know what they are talking about, but that is yesterdays news

It won't take more than 1-200 years and cost more than WWII.

The people that legislate and conceive plans drive 4-wheelers. The lane restrictions are so that 4-wheelers can have their own VIP lanes. Any safety analysis would restrict trucks to the far left lane, not the far right lane, but that restriction would be felt by 4-wheelers like an insult.

The vast majority of states throw their fuel tax money into the general fund and then spend that money on everything. They spend the least amount of money on roads. Those states are now looking at another idea to take money from to transfer fuel tax money other projects.

The states that restrict all of their fuel tax revenue to road projects have decidely better roads.
