In your example, you had from 0800 to 1430 to snore. That's 6-1/2 hours of uninterrupted shuteye at least.

Dispatch might have woke you up twice. Happens. They don't work nights. He's trying to get you onto the next load to make you money. You want sleep instead, shut off phone.

0600 to 1530 would be 9-1/2 hours, dispatch said you'd have a ten in, something doesn't add up there, but I got to believe them because they got more experience at it than you, think your times are off.

Unless k&b had you unloading during that live unload, you should also have been catnapping beforehand while the fork lift banged on too. Pick up another couple of zzz's

    Welcome to trucking.

You pull for a reefer company. That means you will deliver on your 10 hr break with regularity. You pull for a rather large reefer company. That means sometimes your load will be repowered during your 10 hour break. If you follow every single rule to the tee, than making money is going to be tough. I think you need to get a better grasp of trucking.

Exactly this 100%.... My hats off to the reefer drivers. Erratic sleep schedules, constantly flipping your schedule, weird appointment times all that. You drive a reefer and this is kinda what you signed up for.

You drive a new truck and it doesn't have power steering? My hat goes off to you for requesting a truck without air conditioning, also.

Many, many drivers drove without them for many, many years and it was just part of the life.

You're still in the business and your truck doesn't have those things because you can handle it. Either that or you are contradicting your stated beliefs.

I reject the concept of being forced.

YOU did it. Broke the HOS and so on.

What you should have done is park that truck at the end of your workday 11 hours or whatever it is on logs, go to bed until the HOS says you can start a new day.

Document everything. Parituclarly if they yell at you for breaking HOS, get names. Send it all into FMCSA via anti corection laws passed since 2012.

No one forced anything on you. You did it on your own free will.

This is not a attack post. I just reject the concept that they (WHo is this they) forced you. (With what? Cattle prods? Grade school bad words and threats? Take your money? etc. pfffth.

The last time some dispatcher tried to tell me I will have that load there vs HOS I told her the truck will get there when it gets there. You have nothing on me to break the laws against HOS.

She flipped. Started yelling, I hung up on her. Documented that too.

That would be the one time I made sure a trailer load of hot freight shut down the receiver and his whole facility when its all over. (Legally mind you...) It cost the company a disgusting amount of money to smooth THOSE feathers.

And the original problem? missed paycheck on 0.00 back in '96 supposed to have been in the realm of 700+ after taxes etc. for that previous week. I hope they cashed out a million for that load. Serves em right. (They went out of business approx 3 months after I quit for cause.)

But they did not force me to do anything. WHAT I will do once in a blue moon is if a suit got down on his creaky knees and said "Please" in the nicest beseeching way possible the same way a thirsty child asks Pa for water...

Sure, you bet. Where is that load? The logs will resolve themselves when I have time after it's done.

This why I always see this feels on the shoulder taking a nap or their 30 min break?

Guy I knew ran into one of the trucks on the shoulder and died all cus the kb driver was taking his mandatory break
