That BS of "welcome to trucking" "you will be working on your 10 hr break" is WRONG! Places like K&B promise the impossible to their customers, and then expect the drivers to make it happen, at the drivers expense. They wave some guaranteed pay in front of them, but one glitch, one disagreement, and that's out the window.

Over the years I’ve pulling reefers and dry vans I never experienced anything like that with the exception of a few odd delivery times. That isn’t trucking at all!

Just look at KB’s social media post to see how hard they recruit and also note the quality of people replying to them. Sounds like a horrible existence dealing with any of these bottom feeders with the pay, working conditions, and company suck ups telling you “that’s trucking!” btw..no it isn’t.

If you still have all of that documentation then drop a dime on them.
Drivers who believe they were coerced into violating regulations described in 49 CFR 390.6(a)(1) or (2) may file a written complaint as explained in 49 CFR 386.12 or may obtain more information on filing a written complaint by calling 1-800-DOT-SAFT (1-800-368-7238).

Or better yet just suck it up, find a new job with a better company and learn from your experience there.

Better company, Schmetter company. Trucking is trucking. They are all pretty much the same, with very few exceptions. The only difference will be the name on the door.

Your 10 years behind the times if you think
This is how most companies operate.

This is 20 years ago, stone age trucking.
This excactly why we're all on e- logs now.

Uhhhhh no. You got it wrong. If you get to a customer, spend the night there, and your delivery is on during your break, that's one thing. If you have to swap trailers during a break, that's one thing. Neither is advancing a load miles down the road illegally. Thats a whole different thing. We are on elogs because people advanced loads with no regard for hours of service. The outlaw guys ran multiple log books, driving day and night. Anyway, the reason why I say all companies are the same is because they only care about getting loads where they need to be, and most will bend rules to do it. I dont see a way to be 100 percent technically compliant and make money. It makes no sense to start a clock to swap trailers or deliver.

what he needs a different company with different freight. And learn how to manage his clock.

Reefer is middle of the night stuff, doesn't matter who runs it. Cosignee wants it at 0300 and that's that. They are the customer.

OTR is constant change of schedule. You can't handle that or want some sort of regular hours, try dedicated or linehaul.

Poor guy found out two weeks in that this isn't a 9 to 5 gig. Seen it in many a newbie. They spend all their downtime goofing off then complain they're tired when it's time to truck.

Suggest he looks at a different segment of trucking or some other field of work.

I would suggest flatbed to the OP if he wants to stay OTR. That's a daytime schedule for the most part.

If all of this is true.... why complain here? Call the DOT....
You cannot be forced to fudge on elog... if you are being FORCED.... call the DOT and report it to them. not here on a social media board.,,,
