,,,take a YARTS bus to Yosemite for the day. I got myself a load to Fresno for Tuesday morning (9-17) and I plan on taking my 34 in Merced and jumping on the bus to Yosemite. 4 hour round-trip scenic bus ride and a total of 9 hours in the Yosemite Valley, all for only $34. The price includes the $15 fee to enter the park. Not a bad way on spending the day
If you ever get stuck in the Fresno/Merced area for 34 hours...

Yeppers .... to many drivers never want to get out of there trucks
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
That is like if a guy is stuck in vegas over the weekend, the race track always has something going on, and it used to be between 15 and 25 bucks, depending on what it was, including pit passes.
The harley drags were 25 bucks and that covered all 3 days. lol
By far the cheapest thing a guy can do in vegas. -
Too many drivers dont like getting out of that truck. They are not out here for enjoyment they have been told to stay with that truck. 34 in the sleeper no outside except to shower and get your sub. Have a great day
D.Tibbitt and Fuelinmyveins Thank this. -
That's a question I have had.
What are company drivers allowed to do when on a '34'? if they are not at the house. -
FlaSwampRat and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this.

Depending on the area, most places have something to occupy your time. Even if it’s just to the local shopping mall for a movie.

In the old days with the taxi cabs they could take 45 minutes to arrive and then they were expensive as all get out,
Say Augusta, Uber over to Hooters for the afternoon.Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
I might hang out at a truckstop, but it sure would not be in the truck. -
I've lived in California more than 40 years and have never made the trip to Yosemite. Now that I'd like to, I hear it's so crowded that I'm not really interested in going.
I haven't done many 34's on the road, but one of my most memorable ones was just south of Portland OR. Dropped my trailer (and pin locked it) at the TA and bobtailed over to the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville for the day. It's an outstanding museum for those of you into airplanes, space (and even guns) and the original Spruce Goose built by Howard Hughes is housed there.
