I am currently pulling stepdeck but thinking about moving up to RGN DD. What I would like to know what would be my best option for a trailer? Iknow aomeone here will say depends what are you hauling. Let's put it this way I have 450hp Cascadia so I do not plan on doing anything too heavy for now. Should I go with 55ton tri axle, 35 DD AG hydroulic with pony motor tandem axle, or 40 ton hydro with tandem? Now if I get 53 feet trail with 30,6 well I know i will not be legal in most of the states with out a permit, should I just go with 48 feet and 29 well? Is there a slow season for heavy haul and when? Is it worth is goinf from stepdeck to heavy haul?

If your not gonna load heavy you don’t need anything more than a 35-40 ton! With your little truck I would get a 35 ton tandem that stretches in the well! That’s just my opinion if you want to go with a double drop or rgn that’s what I would recommend because there is some good paying freight that is tall and long but doesn’t weigh much! It’s up to you as to whether you want to haul light equipment or nor! If you do go with an rgn if not just get a double drop! As far as brand they are all pretty good trailers I always pulled doonan and katlyn. I would recommend a mechanical neck because you want have to worry about the pony motor are hydraulic not working and can’t break the neck down! It’s a little more work with a mechanical neck but I prefer it

The mechanical neck will even keep the weight down. I'm concerned that a stretch trailer maybe heavy but it would open up options. Something to keep in mind with a mechanical neck. Have a in cab over-air for the suspension. ( It has saved having to get out and do things the hard way when ground clearance becomes an issue.)
