You are 100% correct about the people in the office matter. I've decided that instead of waiting any longer that i'm going to go fully independent and use the "load boards" of the mega carriers along with dat and other load boards. I know my cost of operation numbers and have them in a spread sheet. I'll learn & earn as I go.

From what I'm understanding. Landstar takes the biggest percentage. Unless that changed.

35% for their take is a pretty good chunk of change.

Well said! I've been loading flatbed at some larger facilities out east frequented by the mega fleets. So often I'm seeing drivers for these mega fleets waiting 6+ hours to get loaded due to their dispatchers incompetence while I'm in and out within 2 hrs my first time there. It's really been sinking in how incompetent these mega fleets are. If you're the type to hustle and work hard with just a little bit of brains you're soooooo much better alone.

You couldn't be more right about these mega fleets looking out for themselves. The stability they enjoy is for themselves only and at your expense if you work for them.

And you can say the exact same thing about brokers and customers.

Kept company insurance, with no significant rate change. I think it might have gone up a couple dollars, but that might have just been normal rate changes.

Working at SWIFT I've learned that the systems the company have in place are all about being profitable. The people drivers have to deal with are hourly and trying to do as little as possible, which means they earn more. Workers generally detest Drivers that make them have to do what they are getting paid to do.

I'm supprised at how easy it is to setup MC so far.

Stick with your plan, it’s working just as you planned it so far.

I wouldn’t let the rest of these fools comments bother you. Most of them likely aren’t doing any better than you and never had the intelligence to have a plan when they started out, yet somehow think they are now some kind of authority on the subject.

Most of those fools started with the mindset.

NO TO CHEAP FREIGHT. Or high truck payments.
