My guitar is in Ocala...who wants to go do a oceans 11 type break in on the fed ex place with me so I can have it NOW lol? It'll get delivered Monday and I'll be too tired to mess with it when I get done work, that kinda sucks.

It is. The main thing is that for a windows computer there are 7 layers data is processed through before it is presented in a way we people can understand. essentially Binary at its most basic form. On or off. Magentic blocks or dots.

If you passed a 50 pound horseshoe magnet over a hard drive it will turn into either a single giant on or a giant off. Nothing else. And the platters will need to be rebuilt into sector blocks and so on. If you wiped it 7 times or more, then whatever is under all that is essentially meeting the DOD standard of not being able to be recovered.

They say as long there are humans around to build a device that can take the data and present it in a way we can comprehend it should persist roughly 10,000 years.

One very extreme data storage persists on Voyagers one and two. Both are in intersteller space after launching 40 plus years ago. V1 is aimed on course for Sirus star which should be reached in about 298000 years. Barring a collision with a asteroid the data on the ship itself, photographs, diagrams, sound messages etc. is in pristine condition because of the extreme cold which is near absolute zero preserving the stuff perfectly. The nuclear power plant is still working but is dying. So they slowly turn off forever the different devices on the V1 and 2. We are still in contact with it believe it or not. Even though it's operating on less total power than needed to drive a old 80's era LCD wrist watch. In about 5 years that will be turned off give or take. and in about 50,000 years it will be safe to touch more or less.

All this useless knowledge in scraps that have not been proven to be a lunch counter story or myths rattling around in my warehoused brain. Its not good. /sarcastic with some sass in it.

All I remember from Ocala is one gal who spent some time with me at what passes for dinner off the interstate. I considered that she had too much college debt (As if...) to be pursuing or courting rather. She asked what it was like to be trucking. I told her its mindless a monkey can do it. The entire industry by then is a carefully constructed gilded cage containing stressors in the form of make work messaging of a frivilous nature and appointments that were made by people you never see whom never have to personally keep what their big mouths promise.

Oh give me a dollar rig and a thousand horses to run and it will be there if it is really that important. Company gets to pay the tickets accumulated.

Its not worth it to ask me if I am going to be somewhere in time while kicking a casterated truck barely holding 63 mph.... while falsely claiming to be at 65, which I caught FFE in that situation when I ran a GPS for myself back then. It constantly failed a 65 mph based schedule so I double checked it and bingo, its only doing 63. so I submit a shop order to recalibrate.

The suits pulled me into a back room... WTF... its just a shop order, here is the GPS video from fraps proving the truck is at 63 come on now. Speedo is busted.

No its not. Its a hidden setting so that the insurance premium will be about so many dollars less per truck.

OIC.... and why give me grief in such a slow truck pray tell, when you have a "PResidents fleet" able to do 72? Give the load to them. Not us.

    ...

Sheesh. Yes anyone can drive a big rig. But that does not mean dispatchers get to give monkeys a hard time over appointments that have no meaning.

I've read thousands of drivers are being laid off or losing their jobs ( Probably do to the driver shortage. Read that too.), so all the one's that haven't been laid off are clustered together at these truck stops and rest areas on I-40 in NM.

You are gonna love it. I recently got a newer cascadia at work and like it waayyyy more than the internationals we have like the one you had at WE. It's a big step up. More power, rides nicer, steers better.
