Did you try Apex Bulk? Closer than ND.
COX Petroleum Transport? New driver program.

    Prim0 Thanks this.

Apex Bulk is located in Adelanto CA, They have yards in Bakersfield (99n@58), and Fontana (Between Cherry Ave & Etiwanda on Slover). They pay hourly, don't know if they have enough accounts near Oxnard to let you have a truck over there. I worked for Apex back in 1996 thru 2001, I was actually the first driver to deliver to DMU back in the day.

A&R (Fontana) delivers (gypsum) to DMI, loads out of Long Beach Port they may want more time but call them you never know. DMI will probably let you park the A&R truck in there lot at night.

If your interested in a mixer there's State Ready Mix, 3127 West Los Angeles Ave. Oxnard used to be good people, been a long time since I been there.

You could also go Valley Bulk a call there in Victorville, but have a yard near Santa Paula, and deliver to CPC Ready Mix just off 5th street every day, ask for LLoyd.

I'd stay away from COX, there very demanding, used to run the drivers into the ground and have more ways of taking your bonus away than you can count. Besides, tankers, that go boom, bad place to gain experience, but on the good side trucks look nice.

Lloyd will want experience. Sleeper cab bulk.

Thanks for the Cox info, I've read that they aren't the best employer but not paying is one of the nonredeemable deadly sins for me. They keep advertising higher pay, helpful to know it's not for real.

Hope it helps. I work for Kemira Chemical, but its nowhere for a new driver, we haul and deliver acid and acid products. Smooth Bore tankers.

Maybe not, they need driver for the CPC account in Oxnard, and not like it used to be, It used to take a recommendation from a Valley driver to get hired , but not any more. Last I heard they were hiring right out of school. Besides LLoyd used to be Jim Golsons Stable Boy. Now hes a safety officer, He never really was even a truck driver, just played around with transfers on Jim projects. Yeah I know them and Jeff the owner very well. Jeff is a great guy, his son will be running the company soon anyway and Ryan is a good kid, he will run it like his Grandpa. Tight ship.

    speedyk Thanks this.

Sleeper there don't mean anything, Where you live determines what load you would run, Hes in Oxnard so he would run CPC or DMI.
