@Bakerman has one he recommends in Phoenix.

That pic on the first page is the Petro in Knoxville. That CB shop has been there since I started driving.

Alot has to do with the transisitors on board. Literally the system board or in computers motherboards.

I had a beloved machine that was essentially capable of doing competition (And has...) what with the technical abilities turned up the max in terms of speed and heat removal etc.

Burned up in 4 years when the capacitors burst.

If I was to make capacitors I would have routed the electrical signals off board into a closet fill of soda can sized capacitors that will never burst.

    @Dave_in_AZ

There are several quality radios in that case. I’m a big fan of Connex and own a 4600, two 4300’s, a General Lee and a General Lee HP40. I would like to try a Stryker one day.

Just depends on what you want out of the radio.

Connex, General, Galaxy, Ranger are all the same,
Stryker 447 is what Walcott recommended for under $300 and he sells them all.

    Dave_in_AZ Thanks this.

At Wolcott I think it depends on how much Happy Sauce they had with lunch

He sounded pretty sober, I called before lunch , lmao!

Also, just to be clear, I was leaning old school, Connex 3300 or General Lee, possibly a Connex 4600 or General HP, told him my last radio was a Galaxy 99 that I no longer had.
That’s when he told me they were all made by the same company, and without hesitation recommended the Stryker with a Ranger mic.

He also mentioned that anything with more power then the small Stryker(75 watts) would need to be wired straight to the battery.

No idea, just reporting what he said

    Anytone AT-6666.

It's the guts of a Stryker 955, in a smaller package that will fit in the factory mounting holes of pretty much any truck, and for a lot less money.

Yes I’ve heard good things about the Anytone but the Stryker 447HP has more power and same footprint for $30 more.

Virtually identical power output between the 2 radios and with the striker you're getting half a radio because it does not include SSB for $30 more. Logically it would make sense to get the AT-6666 which is twice the radio for $30 less.
Kinda hard to beat $219.00 with free shipping for twice the radio with identical power output.
