I know they re not in Dothan, but what about Wright Transportation out of Mobile? Their website says they allow pets. They have decent looking equipment. Have not heard anything bad about them

See, that's why we need to know if she wants a company with a terminal close by or just one that can get her home when she wants.
There are more in the area.Texas_hwy_287 and pagan22 Thank this. -

Thanks all for the replies. I already work at Sanders, but am needing a change. I'd prefer a terminal in or around Dothan, but not local work. I actually like OTR. I didn't know if anyone local to my area would know of some companies that may not have websites and go by word of mouth.

First Fleet may have an opening, if not, I'm guessing they will soon enough. They run a lot of paper out of Cedar Springs.
PTI also runs a lot of paper out of Cedar Springs. Both PTI and First Fleet have yards in Dothan.
When you get a chance, drive by the new cold storage freezer on Westgate Parkway and see which reefer units go in and out of there. I've only been once so I'm not familiar enough with that place, yet.
Also, I can't remember who, but someone has a small yard close to the airport in Midland City. Andrews used to own that yard but is renting it to someone else now.
If you want to venture a little further away from Dothan, there is always Buddy Moore (used to be MSJ Trucking) and H. D. Edgar, both in Opp.

Summerford is and their home terminal is in Ashford on US 82 east of the circle. Yeah, they have some dry vans along with their flatbeds. Be sure to check out their pay.
AMX is there as well, but I'm certain the OP is familiar with both of them.Texas_hwy_287, bryan21384 and pagan22 Thank this. -

My buddy works for First Fleet and he did his interview, road test, etc in Dothan. That's where he picked up his truck and where he drops a trailer when a customer has issues with taking a load due to scheduling difficulties He's told me where their yard is but I can't remember exactly where off the top of my head, but I want to say he said it's near Freightliner.
Regarding the Cold Storage. To be sure, it's the new one on Westgate Pkwy. There's not even a picture of it on Google Maps. It shows a vacant field. The one you may be thinking of is the cold storage on Murray Rd.
When Buddy Moore Trucking bought MSJ, they kept MSJ's yard in Opp. Going west on US 84 from Elba, it's on the left at the traffic light where you get on the bypass to go around Opp.
I didn't mention any LTL carriers due to your dog, but AAA Cooper and SAIA are both hiring P&D drivers as of this morning and Cooper is also hiring a dedicated driver, though I'm not sure what that's about. One of my buddies lives in Pensacola and the same Cooper dedicated ad in listed over there also.
I had to do a road test a few weeks ago and we ended up going all kinds of back roads from Murray Rd, coming out at US 231 just below the truck wash. I was as lost as I could be but the road tester knew exactly where he was. The terminal by Napier Field caught me by surprise. I asked the tester whose it was and he's the one who said a few different companies use it but that it was owned by the owner of Andrews Trucking. Seems like I saw some red tractors in there and maybe some dry vans. The red tractors may have been Ranger but I thought all they hauled was chips and I didn't see a chip wagon as we drove by that yard.Texas_hwy_287 and pagan22 Thank this.
