A truck driver is lucky to have walked away unscathed after a small bridge located on private property collapsed under his vehicle yesterday.
The bridge collapse occurred on Monday afternoon in Monroe, Washington.
According to the Snohomish County Fire District 7, a truck driver hauling a septic vaults on Old Owen Road attempted to cross a private bridge over Woods Creek. The truck was apparently too heavy for the structure and it collapsed, causing the truck to fall about 10 feet into the creek below.
The truck came to a stop lying on the passenger side in the creek.
Authorities say that there were no injuries to the truck driver.
Because the bridge is privately owned, it isn’t clear if there was signage warning the truck driver of any weight limit.
Local man Ken Zappia told Kiro 7, “I don’t know if I would have gone over it in a big old truck though. It’s scary just going over in my car.”

Why does it not surprise me it was a building materials delivery. Likely someone wanting to build a guest house or something like that and didn't want to pay to have it delivered correctly.

frankly, how frigging stupid does one have to be, to TRUST a wooden bridge..??
i hope his company pays for a new bridge, maybe even an all steel draw bridge, (to allow row boats and dinghy's under it), maybe one with lights and a pedestrian walkway, maybe also at each end, a hot dog and ice cream stand....
dumb mofo........to even THINK he can cross it......
which apparently...he clearly DOES NOT THINK....x1Heavy, D.Tibbitt and Savor the Flavor Thank this. -
I wouldn’t try to cross that bridge even if it was marked at 40t. Common it looks like 2x6 planks.
Bud A., x1Heavy, Savor the Flavor and 2 others Thank this. -
"Dispatcher FORCED me to cross bridge, i ended up in creek below, will anybody hire me?"
