If ma did something against our values such as criminally taking another life that was not a threat then yes she sits in jail. The Courts have alot of work to do.

The situation dictates the future. In our family if you did something really bad and hurt someone or several someones with intent to take a life or lives etc for example then in jail you sit. Makes no difference. Love you but good luck! You are on your own.

Many kids cannot get out of the house until 33 or whatever. Ive been essentially on my own since childhood after my parents divorced. Both did remarry and did the minimum required of them by law in custody and being mommy or daddy until we hit 18. They will always be mommy or daddy but we are on our own. In my case in particular dating back to the early 70's what with the chaos of what they called a handicap neither parent was actively participating beyond the required appt with doctors etc. If you examine families with deaf children and they are functional you will find that the family unit has taken the time and trouble to learn a new language in addition to teaching the child what is possible when the child has a language sufficient to start getting a education.

This was where my grandparent came into play, we did home schooling several generations before anyone thought of it as a formal term to deal with the Public Educational System for the grading of the child etc. I was literally taught as much as I could hold and taught some more tomorrow. Little by little. I had cursive writing at 4. That blew people away. If I could not have a formal language other than pointing, how is it possible I learned writing. I was taught how thats how. Then books became possible and so forth.

By the time I got out of high school (Or more precisely aged out at 20 due to political infighting among the educators what to do with me in two seperate grade levels over the years they were pleased to be rid of me.) I was more than sick of our education system. Both the hearing public and the deaf system. Would I go to college? Hell no. Im outta here. Running a load of pretzels out of Hanover to somewhere in Toledo then Ketchup reload back to say Carlise PA etc. Make a little bit of money and meet new people in the truckstops.

I call that a happy time in my life. No stress other than whats in my pocket versus the needs of toll (Will co reimburse or not etc) and building savings. Sometimes paying for tires I cut or mirrors I broke. The alternative would be firing. What would I like? Pay em. Eventually I stopped breaking stuff unless a larger situation came up. Then the company will recognize that and take care of it. Then see if they wanna fire me or not. Because you are a trucker rolling 18 wheels and you hit something or something hits you its all your fault automatically unless you have first hand video saying it aint so. Everything else is BS. Or lunch counter stories or outright lying which is detected by trained safety accident investigators etc.

I have lived my life the way I thought best to do it, trucking came first over anything else. With several very rare and really important exceptions to that rule. One is medical currently and the other is my spouse, or ex rather. We are a team in life. working together to assist each other in issues. The one vehicle is going to the shop soon to really get looked at. I go along to see whats what. Ex goes along to learn if anything that needs doing. This state has failed to fix potholes and its a ongoing damage process against the vehicle. I drive it as a trucker and i pick up the possiblity that the rotor is bad or the bearing is bad. Worse case scenario the shock tower and front end pillar is bad among other possibilites. But the car will be examined beyond DOT inspection and if something is indeed broken, we fix it. Before it really gets broken. We take pride in preventable maintaince and the vehicle as close to 100% up in hardly nothing broken.

We did learn however to exclude our Dealer, Orr of Searcy off 45 mile marker in US 67 because the last time we went there, there was a cell phone charger socket that jammed in the lighter plug.

Orr qouted a 110 dollar fee to diagnose the problem and worse case scenario about a 150 dollar job to replace the #### cigerette lighter entirely.

I recalled replacing them for 8 bucks out of the 76 truckstop and fed it with two wires, black and white. They never failed again in my trucks.

Their ballsy 260 dollar quote and cost to remedy the lighter back to factory spec is flat greed and BS. The actual work took 10 minutes at a cost of 70 dollar a hour and the original plug was saved when the cellphone charger came out in peices. We had a spare. Popped it in and back in business at a smaller shop who knows that if they do a good job that inflicts the minimum necessary charges to fix it right and proper then we will come back with more work. That is excatly what we are doing.

At least we don't have to worry about scratching keys hanging off the chain drive wallet against a paint work of a 95,000 dollar Cadillac that partially blocks the entry way of Orr dealership. Come on now... All that to make people (Potential fleece customers) to stop walking and look it over providing a sales person to intercept and say you like that one? With dollar signs in his eyes.

    Bleah.

A non-surety bond is basically a promise to appear in court with a dollar amount attached to it. The theory behind this practice is such: if the defendant fails to appear, the non-surety bond amount will be ordered forfeited

so (and i ain't no lawyer) to me, it just sounds like she made a promise to appear in court?

then if she DOES NOT appear, she must then pony up that money?

at her age, she will certainly get out of this, her family and lawyer will claim dementia or Alzheimer's and put her into a nursing home...

i cannot see "much luck" in any civil suit against her or her estate as well.

They’ll definitely pull her license for sure but I wouldn’t be surprised if the truck driver’s family files a civil suit against her and/or her estate.
