Ignition must be on, no previous log violations on the day.

I'm not going to work for Magnum. Congratulations Bryce. Company won't do anything about it's insecure Safety Department. Remember what Colin Powell said: There is nothing on the face of the earth worse than an insecure leader.

I do have to agree with DOT. They hate the FMCSA and all it's CSA points and such. DOT has nothing to do with that. DOT says it's funded by the Companies. Exists to take responsibility off of the companies. Move 100% of responsibility to the drivers. I got this from DOT. After looking at my report. I have to agree. CSA report is incompetent. Left out clean inspections. Perverted violations. A damaged mud flap hanger turned into 'no dot approved bumper'. When a pneumatic trailer has no dot approved bumper. It sits too low in the back. Has a bunch back there. Look at them yourself. Unless it's for off road like Oil Field. There are no dot approved bumpers on most pneumatic trailers. Straight from the factory that way. ... They're kinda like low boy flat beds. They have no dot approved bumper either.
They turned the driving in the right lane in a (false) construction zone. Into "Dangerous Driving". Thank you Bryce! No drive cam video! They went out of their way to create this false appearance of the construction zone ending.
Safety tried to say I don't know HOS or Elogs. When DOT has told me that I really know what I'm doing. Now who is right?
Safety Department is Magnum's achilles heal.

Might be best for me. I didn't realize. Through all this leaving the Oil Field because of safety. (no violations). I ran across a tiny little add in Craigslist. Looks like I'm going to haul cement powder out of Rapid City. Maybe a couple nights a week overnight. Live at home. Save money. Talking with this guy. We really see eye to eye. He likes the route to Denver that I like for the same reasons. He doesn't like the CSA scores either (like DOT). Said he don't give a darn what CSA score says. Just my license record and will insurance insure me. Insurance has approved me. Also...I was looking at growing plants for income as a supplement in retirement. Now? I'm going to try this. Most of it is work here and there. But mostly just letting them grow. Get them started. Then sell them. Always enjoyed gardening.

Oh and in my looking. Jim Palmer came up very close to Magnum again. Was going to go back because of my knowing Magnum. Great culture there. Loved most all the people. Knew what I had. Tony said I'll be welcome back in July when my CSA score goes down... But... I'll go with Jim Palmer if I go back. Jim Palmer knows everything. Might have the best situation now? I'll have to see.
I seriously need to be doing more physically. All the time I've spent painting my front porch. Have been in pain the whole time.
Might be best for me to stay here and not go OTR.

Also got a call from the guy who trained me in Oil Field today. I always told them not to blame him for my training. He doesn't know and it ain't his fault. Bad lack of communication there. He'd like to see me come back. I really don't think so. Just a matter of time till I would have gotten in trouble with DOT. No thank you.

WP, what kind of plants are you growing? I'm doing the same thing, technically. Building up my garlic stock to be able to do this full time. Running OTR in the off season, so I can jam next year, to see if I'm built for the farming life. I love the idea of it so far. The work has been a labor of "like." Just saying that tilling with a walk behind tiller can be a biznitch.

I got the info from Mike McGroarty. Teaches you everything about it.
Mike also sells a pro watering system. It's actually easy. But the controller waters for ten seconds every ten minutes. It's also set up for fertilizer in the water. Miracle Grow. That's how the big boys do it.
Not sure on what yet. Basically taking clippings. Getting them to root and grow. Easiest. Can do 500 of them in a 4x4 foot square, easily.
Interesting Mike says that clippings will make it through winter, no problem outside. They're tougher than people think. He grows in Ohio.
I'm thinking of taking a bush that actually grows wild here. Nurseries won't sell it because of that. It was developed by SD State University. Then seeds have blown in the wind and grown wild here. This is a tough environment. Has a pretty flower on it. Grows great with a little care. People should still pay for a little potted one. If not. Can sell them to other growers... to grow them bigger or? Just occured to me. They sell this bush in Denver. Might combine my job and haul them down there when working. hehe
I could buy cuttings of something in demand. So far he's mentioned Dogwood Trees.
I'll see. Right now I have a 'Square foot Garden'. Will start with it.
Also an awful deck in the back I need to remove. Might just pull out that framework. Put it in a spot to grown this stuff. Now I'm glad I failed to get someone to cut it up to take it out.

WP, sorry for your situation. Like I've been saying for years (it seems now), much if what happens in trucking is driven by insurance. We are approved to work anywhere that is willing to pay the insurance rate. The clash is in the big variances of how states and jurisdictions interpret then write up suspected violations. Have you tried a Data-Q's appeal of your "violations"? I read that Jim Palmer got out from under Prime...hope that is the case. Another friend went to work for Earl Henderson and they were in the same Prime boat. I guess anyone affiliated with Prime is at Prime's mercy. Trucking is tough anymore. Please check out that Data-Q's appeals process. If you can get any of those points reversed, it'll go a long way for whoever you go to work for.
