What is this thread? Where the heck am I...?

While I'm here, let me say this. Some people just ain't cut out for driving all night. Some of us are and we come alive when the sun goes down BUT...we gotta be back in the coffin when the sun comes up.

The night time is the right time for me.

Dawn kills me. Usually 6AM to about 8AM. I'm fine before that. Most graveyards I worked I would leave work 5AM to 8AM sometime. Youd think the sun would wake me back up, but it doesn't. Not at all.

When I have to drive/work days I struggle to fall asleep anytime before 2AM.

I think that is natural because I have worked nights for a while and I'm good until about 3am then I start to get lazy, I wouldn't say so much tired but I just don't wanna do anything anymore. Driving and unloading become more mentally tiring.

Yep....I know what you mean. Actually I am currently struggling with trying to move my wake-up time... I worked the 5 PM shift for 25 years. Then my job changed and now, my shift start is basically 1 AM. I am ok with that but it is hard to get to bed (much less fall asleep) in the afternoon. So, I try my best to be in bed by 6 PM. That should give 6 hrs sleep. But I struggle to fall asleep.

It's all about getting a good sleep for me
Once I've conquered getting to sleep, then 5 - 6 hrs later I can get up rested and go to work. But time after time I toss and turn till 7 or 8 o'clock and then when midnight rolls around I haven't had enough sleep and struggle to get out if bed.

Yes...I think.most people have that kind of trouble. We are OK to a certain point and can go-go-go until a certain point in our work day and then we sort of wind down and want to coast.

    Kind of both lol.

Seriously though, those things are way bad for us, and I was just kidding. Though I do take a 5hr energy when I need to.

I run flatbed love driving at night around that time on the east side through ny & Connecticut. I do eat well & get my proper rest to operate during that time. I had a bad accident 7 years ago during those hours. My spider senses are up so I have no problem pulling it over before had to keep you & me safe

I eat light when I'm going to be doing a night run, heavy meals just put me out.
