I can't speak for every company/ situation but the two companies I have worked for train you and get you ready to go to the DMV and take the test from the state so ultimately it's the state dot that makes the pass/fail call.

There are many different ways this is done. There are DMV (DDS in Georgia) testers, but there are also third party testers. A lot depends upon where you are testing. One company that I was considering, would have me convert my CDL Permit over to the state that their training is in. Then I would test there, and convert my CDL back to my home state, afterwards.

Keep in mind that if they are using a third party tester, you may have to pay that person. If you fail, you may have to pay them more than once. Some states DMV charge for testing.

The state DMV/sos has the last say in getting a cdl. No matter if it is third party testers or the state because the dmv/sos issues the license.

The DMV, or whatever state government agency you call it, will decide whether or not you get a CDL.

You MAY still have to take a company road test and pass that. That’s just to see if they will hire you.

The Revenuer (To Yankees thats the DMV for you) testing big rigs and YOU in it for that CDL after your school has paid the necessary lipservice to the coursework. You will learn further that all Schools accept a common less than stellar performances by the now trained professional trucker. The Revenuer will be pleased to provide this CDL A to all assembled here And introduce Trucker so and so to the world. Now that they are deemed a Professional.

Your real educating starts on your first employer with the first load. And yer it. There should be no leaks. IF any are found in your Driver Vehicle Identifation eport you list the estimated amount and if the product is hazmaterias.

If you think Officer Coaltrain and deputy Bigring have trouble with that important concept endangering the community you can escalate the response.

No one will believe you. Untilyou grab everything you can can carry.

"THAT has FUMES in that product. Three breaths paralyze you and then kill you when the heart stops.

Fortunate for all of us you will have to eat about 60 pounds in one sitting. But to metabolize all that down to 1000 milliliter (Whatever that is... REALLY sall amounts..) via your liver working over time and you essentially just sit here waiting.

The people at the school I went to were also DMV examiners, so they administered the test.

It depends. Almost every gets the official pass/fail decision from the DMV in your state. A few CDL schools have self-test authority and you get the decision from a school employee.

I'm assuming you are asking about the official written/computer knowledge tests and the driving & pre-trip tests. Companies can also administer their own test to new-hires. That test doesn't affect your state CDL.
