What gets me is look forward you can’t even see the end of the water.... if the road pitches down a foot or two he’s screwed.......

The hint to stop was the National Guard vehicle parked in the middle of the interstate.....

Yup, nope. Just wow. And the 2nd article I posted, dude wasn't even LOADED... was trying to PICK UP A LOAD. Seriously?!?! Empty floating box makes for great propulsion, I'd reckon!

Went through there yesterday, they stopped us and closed the freeway at US61 exit on i10 east.. Probably saw close to 100 trucks on/off and around that exit. Not sure how many days delay this would cause we went a different route. Back 10w - 563 - 770 - US90 - 10e, in Florida now good to go. Here's what we saw:

An I-10 bridge in Channelview (updated spot) has now been closed because of barges breaking loose of their moorings and hitting bridge pilings underneath. They showed one on the Weather Channel sitting cattiwampus underneath it.. As of 8:20 CST. It will have to be inspected to determine if any damage has been done, and if they can reopen it or not.

The bridge is actually in Channelview TX

This one shows the pilings busted up underneath the bridge.
I-10 East Freeway shut down indefinitely due to major damage at the San Jacinto River

Barges hit I-10 bridge over San Jacinto River, freeway shut down

At least two barges hit the I-10 bridge over the San Jacinto River, shutting down the freeway in both directions near Channelview.

The freeway is shut down eastbound at Magnolia and westbound at Crosby Lynchburg.

Around 12:05 a.m., Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders received a report that nine barges had broken away from their moorings at the San Jacinto River Fleet, north of the bridge, the Coast Guard said.

Of those barges, at least two hit the bridge.
