It's not always about the dollar amount. It's what you have to do to get it. I went from $38/hr when I put my retirement paperwork across the desk at ups to $28/hr now pulling for Coke and I have never been happier at $10/hr less than what I was making a few years ago.

Coming off the interstate as I’m going up the off ramp I see headlights. I’m thinking to myself “Am I that tired?” Nope Foward air thought it was the ramp to get on the interstate. He was backing up onto the street trying to get out of the situation. Luckily he wasn’t blocking the right hand turn lane I needed to get around him. Should of recorded it would of gone viral for sure. Lol.

Got cancelled today. Pretty happy about it too. Still make plenty of money on 4 runs. I guess freight is slow out of Texas. I’m kicking back today and finish my week tomorrow. Seems like they cancel once or twice a month on this run but I have the option of doing another run but I choose not to.

Wish I could trade ya. I am an hour away from the terminal to do a trailer swap. The loaded trailer has 44 different shipments on there that I need to sign, resign, then enter into my handheld individually. At least the freight is pro'ed. But I am gonna be here a minute to get everything into my computer. Actually taking a break now from signing my name 88 times.

Pfft. My backtrack is an hour minimum. This is why my barn doesn't put up with this kind of nonsense.

    RANT, RANT, RANT......WARNING.......RANT, RANT, RANT

    We all have that guy.
The one who refuses to ask questions. Refuses to do more than he is expressly instructed to. Well, yesterday he tries to haul me under his bus with him.

He was doing a route that he hadn't done before, but had been near to. Almost everyday. He knew the driver of that route did a pair of stops, before going to our auto parts DC to pick up. He didn't do those stops, and when he called me to see where i was.
He wanted to know why I hadn't done them ( I wasn't dispatched to).
He didn't read his trip ticket.
He failed to ask what that route (remember, new to him) entailed as to stops and what not.

Then he tries to throw me under said bus. By telling the BOSS that he was told by dispatch that they assumed I would do it. Thankfully, we were able to get that customer taken care of. But after taking pictures of everything I had in hand. Regarding my route (to cover my butt). I still fear that he's going to try again.

This guy is the permanent victim in our company.
NONE of the routs he's on are ever legal (despite all other drivers not having problems). He always says that he's being pushed to drive illegally, and against his 14. He's always telling others that he's never allowed to have a full 10 off. One of these days he's going to tell the WRONG person, and we're gonna get audited. Because of this permanent victim, moron.
He's so tiring, me head hurts.

Failure of management to write up drivers.
Our problem child refuses to stop for blinking red lights and refuses to slide tandems. He keeps saying as long as the state allows it (MI does) there is nothing wrong with running them back. Just too lazy to slide them is all, and it's all air. It takes a whole 1 second to do....
Of course he's the one always rolling over curbs and destroying landscape because he won't slide.

All management has to do is sit out there and watch him, but they are also too lazy to do their jobs too.
