TruckingTruth is run by Brett Aquila right? I read his book when I first got interested in being a driver.
I thought it was odd that about a third of the book seemed to be about how and why to cheat your logs but then it was written and published back in 2008, before ELDs took effect. I've sorta wondered what his take on things might be now but seems like a read somewhere he's not driving anymore?

Yes, these things are in writing - in recruitment literature, company handbooks, etc..
What "remedies" exist when your DM tells you he can't pay you for that 6 hour detention because the customer didn't pay them? (And before you suggest that one take it up the chain of command, be aware that that other site tells drivers that they shouldn't do that because it will just piss them off and then they'll punish you with future crappy loads and diminishing miles. Just bend over and take it, they advise.)
I notice that you question the credibility of the new member that complained about meager paychecks and the inability to get home at CR England (bad company forum) while being supportive of another new member that complained of ill treatment at some small company I never heard of (Radeon trucking, inc.). Seems you apply the same double standard as that other website, and have the same credibility issue. -

I encourage everyone to knock off the bickering. It hasn't gotten too much out of hand yet, but it's quickly approaching it.
FlaSwampRat and Midlife Trucker Thank this. -
I tried hard to give that site the benefit of the doubt, but now have to agree with many of the points made in the original post. Here's my experience with TruckerTruth. Searching for information about different companies, I found that site first, obviously they do pretty good SEO.
When I joined my posts were not showing up. So I emailed the owner of the site, Brett. In that email, I even sent a photo of my business card in front of the monitor, to show that I am whom I say that I am. That got me in the door.
However, G-Town decided to attack me when I asked a couple questions, still thinking that I wasn't whom I said that I was, even after Brett clued them in that I was real. I even went as far as to email a copy of my CDL permit, DOT, and acceptance letter to a trucking company.
But did that reign in G-Town and a few others? No, he continued to attack me and my posts. I'm betting they wonder why their site isn't attracting new users. Newsflash, when a user, like myself comes to the site, they read a lot of posts. That means they see a lot of those ads which generate revenue for the site.
This Todd, has obviously done a very good job at controlling the moderators and how they treat new users. I've moderated and administered many websites that include forums, I'd never allow staff to treat new users as that site does.
I can honestly say that I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried it. -
I'm not surprised, but sorry about your experience at the "friendliest trucker forum you'll find anywhere."

They have some drunk software guy from Florida who has never had a CDL, let alone driven, as their "technical and regulations guru." I tried to help them out by posting factual information, but I was censored.
Correction: had... he fell off the wagon and disappeared again. -
While we believe that TruckersReport is the best online community available to drivers, we recognize that we'll never be all things to all people. Having choices is healthier for discussion in general, so it's not a bad thing that there are other sites available for drivers looking for something different than what we have here.
With that in mind, there's one thing that the site owner here has always been clear on. He has always insisted that we take the high road and he doesn't want TruckersReport to be used to bash other online trucking communities. Let's respect his wishes and wrap this one up.
