If you mess up your knee you won't be able to work the rudders on the J-3 !!! ;-)

Try asking the school if you can change the clutch return spring....it might help. Explain to them that other students are having problems with the stiff clutch and may be injured.

Also, you can fake a double clutch and float shift if you're driving. Parking and backing you may just have to tough it out. Good luck!

Tip of the iceberg, my friend. No sympathy here. I drove a Rrrrr model Mack, at a stop light, I had to have both feet on the clutch. Wait until you "fingerprint" a load of windshield washer fluid ( or whatever) that's on the floor. Remember, you asked for it.

Do half squats and see how it feels. If still hurting do some yoga. I know who would of thought but yoga is nothing easy I use to use it for my boxing training for days off. If still a problem go see a physiotherapist. You just not used to using you knee like that. It will get better

I've done it and I can honestly say that and hour of yoga kicks my ### more than 2 hours of krav but #### you do just start to get that all over loose and lined up feeling from it if you stick with it for a lil bit.
OP I would take this advice and give yoga a shot.

I had a pain in my knee when i went through the school. Attributed it to my body adapting to new repetitive movements.

When I was younger I stacked bricks on to pallets for Interstate Brick. After a couple months I developed a terrible joint pain in my elbow and Ibprophines werent helping. Had to quit. The pain kept getting worse.

After driving school just make sure you get put into an automatic like Chinatown suggested. They seem to be pretty common now anyway.

Try adjusting your seat. Forward or back depending on where it is now. And the height if possible. Up a little or down a little The angle of your knee will help some

I think you got some problems you don’t know about in your knee.

Clutch shouldn’t be hurting you that bad.

You said you were at Sage.... if so ask if they have an automatic you can train on and test with. I'm getting ready to attend Sage here in Denver and they offer Auto's or Manual trucks.

    Good luck.

Ace bandage. Tylenol. Tough it out until you get through school and get your CDL.

    Yes, seat position.
When I first hopped into a truck and put the seat where I first felt like. I stepped on the clutch and the air ride seat went up, making it harder to push the clutch. I fiddled with the seat settings and found a spot where that didn’t happen, a spot where stepping on the clutch just forced my hips into the back of he seat, so I had some leverage.
