Just thinking about doing an 800 number to separate this from personal, how bad is it if i were to use my area code and then have to change it to a different state if i leave the state?

That's why i'm leaning a bit to an 800 number bc it is national.

    Why?

I have a number that’s 18 years old. I’m living in a different state and still using it.

One a side note: your query got me thinking why not get a 900 number like from back In the old days.

Charge em for talking to you. Hell most of the newbs working the brokerage firms now a days don’t even know about em.

If you’re valuable, they’ll save your number (whatever it is).

Just leave it alone, I have a dozen phone numbers because when I would buy a fleet, the customer is used to dialing one number so I keep the number.

    Don't 800 and 900 numbers cost?

You can keep your number no matter where you got it and where you live.

You’re so full of crap it’s not even funny, Greg. Quit lying to all these guys about all the fleets you buy. You have one truck and it’s leased to Landstar. Enough already.

I use a Google Voice number. It's free.

When you first get your Authority you are bombarded with calls. I like Google Voice because it transcribes each call and I don't have to listen to the voicemail.

    I think that's a lot quicker.
