this is true, if one lives in generally hot climates. but to have (say) a heated flooring takes some of that cold pad during the winter and makes it more comfortable on the feet and back and other joints, if one has to lay on the flooring.

also, if in winter time, helps to dry up the place when the snow/ice drips off the equipment.

heated floors are (i think) becoming more common now these days, as it is done before the concrete is laid. this also cuts down on the general heating bill of the building as the heat radiates from the floor to the ceiling. it won't be a massive amount of heat into the air, but it will most certainly make for a very comfortable work place....

that, and a man cave as well......

some floors are heated by an electric grid system, some are heated by PEX tubing and 1 or up to 3 "water heaters" (with anti-freeze in think used as the liquid) for zoned heating, as only one zone of heat, about 1/3rd of the floor will be hot, the other 2/3rds will be cold....

I've only got one heated pad; Reddi Blast and Hot Blast takes care of the rest. Yep, the heat rises, and we have living space upstairs our barn with heat as well. I need to cut wood, dang me.

    That’s the minimum!!!

Ours at the shop is 16’ x 16’.

Mostly because of farm equipment but makes getting the truck n trailer in and out and still be able to walk around it if it’s hanging out the door.

Mine at home is a 12’ x 12’. My truck is a mid roof so it works out.
