my first heavy haul in American Truck Simulator: total fail
I should probably used the "no traffic" command in the game's developer console next time. These stupid AI vehicles get in the way and won't back up when I get in a jam. In the real world of heavy haul, there would be special permits, escort vehicles and police to control traffic so this big dog can swing super wide at intersections. Many heavy haul moves can only be made during daylight hours to boot. The stupid lamp post on the corner is in the way of inside tracking for the trailer.
I'm not even sure if backing one of these articulated lowboys has the same rules as backing a normal trailer: cut the steer wheels the opposite way you want the trailer's behind to go. At least I have my regulatory banners displayed for the Oversize Load. Are beacon lights also needed for the cab top of the tractor?
To continue this game, I will have to Teleport out of this mess.
I had to post this here. I can now really appreciate how tough heavy haul real is for any heavy-haulers here. The lowboy has a logging harvester on board. I was trying to get from Astoria, OR to Tacoma, WA with this thing.
Are there special backing rules for a heavy haul lowboy?
