The Landstar “model” is deteriorating. Corporate has brought in employees from trucking entities used to addressing company drivers. Gone is the respect for driver independent status. Their “safety cult” is so worshiped they will crucify anyone who breaks even the slightest commandment. Agents being hired barely speak english and no longer actively persue new freight. They list freight offered by other agents and have no idea when you contact them whether the load is still available or not. Corporate could care less about driver retainment. Think I’m wrong? Go for it then. Seeing is believing.
Too big to care

Years ago Landstar did not have to advertise. Word-of-mouth built their driver pool. Word-of-mouth works because real truckers care about each other.

It isn’t what I know about Landstar that bothers me so much, it’s what I don’t know, but suspect. Secrets of who’s on their preferred list and who’s not, and how information is used to reward and punish.
Fire ant Thanks this. -
I refuse to do business with them, most carrier,/brokers think they are above all drivers and independents.
Till the day comes where they address outside carriers as professional business folks......won't touch them,
And yes,I'll go in on their customers violently selling my service without losing a second sleep about itclausland, Dave_in_AZ, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
