Cat Acert Scangauge code deciphering

    Any running a scangauge on a cat c15 acert and know how to decipher the engine codes?

    I have a pdf of the cat codes for this engine but the dont match up with scangauge. Is there a cross reference available or something?

    You have to call scangauge to get the codes. I've begged for a copy but they won't give me one. Just call with the code and they will tell you what it is.

    Or better yet just read the flash codes with the cruise control. The flash codes and procedure to get them is readily available online

    The reason I asked is because the scangauge told me I had 6 codes but the cruise control only showed 2

    Ran a scangauge for years on a C13 and C15. It's, for the most part, useless for diagnostics on a CAT. There are a few codes available on the web if you search deep for them. Assuming you did that already, your issue is probably not one of the known codes. The scangauge is also really good at logging "ghost" codes that are imaginary for lack of a better term.

    I'm mostly using it for gauges as my water temp and oil psi aren't reading correctly.

    Just was curious what kind of codes it was showing that weren't coming up on the dash

    Cruise will only show active codes. You proabaly have some inactive showing on the scanguage

    Ok, well I know I have active codes for the iva's. they were supposedly bypassed somehow but never turned off in the computer.

    Does a 95 or 93 iva code cause a derate?

    93 is 3 or 4 iva and will cause a derate. 95 is IVA oil pressure sensor voltage, no derate.

    Yes i knew one was the iva pressure sensor and the other was bank 2

    Thought it felt a little sluggish.

    May pull the covers over the weekend and see if the just backed the actuators off or if he was lying to me and just the actuators are bad

    Doubt the IVAs are bad. I'd wager their wires are though. The connectors over time seep oil into the wires. And the wires also get brittle. I read somewhere that those two things generally happen way before an IVA actually goes bad. That said, it doesn't really matter cause you pretty much have to replace the whole IVA in any case.
