Drivers that are Hams, What Freq. do you monitor?

I also recommend a repeater directory. I only run 2 meters in the work truck and program repeaters along my normal routes in addition to 146.520. Since the same frequencies are in use in different regions you still will hear repeaters you don't have programmed in if you don't use the receive tone squelch, then simply look up the transmit tone or your radio my do that for you,

 

I use a Uniden SDS200 with GPS to automatically scan local repeaters as I drive. If I hear one active I can see both the frequency and CTCSS tone used and setup my ham rig if I wish to join in.

I’m curious if there are any HF frequencies that drivers hang out on.

 

I hang out on one of these: 7.010 or on SSB 14.195.

 

Do you know if SSB works once a Radio has been converted from 10 to 11 meter?
My Stryker 955 has been converted to 11 Meter but SSB mode low or high seems to just muffle the regular 40 CB channels.

 

Once an import radio has been converted to 11 meters, it needs an alignment done.

 

Should the frequency's change once flipped into SSB? Mine stay at 27.185 for instance on upper and lower SB with channel 19 selected.

 

The frequency will not change when switching between AM, USB, and LSB. It shows the frequency of the carrier wave which is the same for all 3 modes for a given channel.
