Did you come up with a fix in the end. I've just bought one of these and have the exact same problem??

This thread really bummed me out. I'm looking to buy a new WS glider because my 95 W900l is always giving me small issues that bug the hell out of me. It's doing better than a new WS from what you guys are saying though.

Well, it's still early but I just got a 2020 4900 and so far it doesn't have all the issues my 2013 showed up with. And I see some improvements they have made.

If I get real picky I still some some things I didn't like for a quarter million dollar truck, but the sad thing is nothing seems to be perfect any more.
I recently bought stuff as simple as a new bench grinder and a fluid extractor and had to bring them back because they had issues. Then was told there are no parts available for them because they are obsolete.
    They are brand new!!!!

Just an update on a few things I noticed they have changed. The climate control is now electronic. No more cable to control the temp. And the little blue light for the air conditioning that always melts a hole through it...that has been changed to a new style button.
The DataStar display now has new blue back lighting and is much clearer and nicer to read.
The bluetooth mic is different from my 2013 and people tell me it doesn't pick up all the background noise my 13 did.
    New interior light.
The satellite radio is now at the front of the roof instead of the back and seems to get better reception.
The fan belt idler pulleys are now grooved pulleys which may eliminate the problem of the old flat faced pulley wearing unevenly and throwing the fan belt all the time.
And just way fewer build quality blunders in this one and none of the many failures my 2013 suffered in the first week.

One complaint still though. The clutch pedal still resonates quite a bit of chatter when the engine is pulling hard. It doesn't rattle as bad as my 2013 with the DD15, but you can hear this one also.
Yet my friends with DD16 600's say there's don't rattle at all?

And I love this DD13 505/1850. It pulls awesome for a little 13 litre. And the engine braking is just as strong as the DD15. It pulls MUCH stronger than my old DD15 505 that was only 1650 torque.

    Cetane+ and Opendeckin Thank this.

I didn’t know that you could get one of those at that power rating.

Yes Oscar, you can get them 1850 torque now. It will easily walk away from the 13 DD15 505/1650.

But it doesn't have the instant response the DD15 had. The 13 feels weak off the line until the turbo spools. It has a lot of turbo lag. But once it spools up and goes north of 30 PSI it really pulls.

The 15 would light up as soon as you touched the throttle pedal.

And it's still doing good. Not one issue. Emission system works as it should. It regens on it's own at any speed and any load.

My DD16 would light up the second you hit the throttle. This DD15 that I have now is a giant slug.

That's odd. Does the new DD15 still have the compound turbo like my 13 had?

My friend has the DD16 600/2050 in his log truck. He likes it, but says his old Mack MP10 605/2060 will pull on it a bit. But his new truck is a tri-drive, so it does have one extra axle soaking up some power.

But then there is a company I have hauled for that has two Star dump trucks same as mine. One has a DD16, not sure the horsepower but it is only 1850 torque version. The other is a DD15 505/1650. And all the drivers say it pulls better?

I find a lot of these new engines is all "luck of the draw"
