The very first load i ever booked was for pulling a brand new Timpte grain hopper from David City, NE to Fargo for the happy new owner.
I inspected the trailer, signed for it, pulled out of the yard and came to the stop light at the intersection 100 yards away. I saw a Silverado SS speeding towards the intersection, and I thought to myself,”I hope he doesn’t plan on turning right here on this slick morning...”
Yep, his turn signal came on, and the next thing I knew: his truck was underneath the trailer and topless.
Fortunately, he and his passenger were ok (it was a miracle) AND he actually had insurance. That was a relief considering that this looked to be the guy’s first winter in America.
Turns out, his insurance company paid me double the rate I was charging the trailer owner to pull the trailer to Fargo, but I only pulled it a total of 90 miles to a business that agreed to buy the trailer.
I felt bad for the owner until after I tried to explain to him that I was simply sitting behind other vehicles at a red light, and there was nothing I could have done to prevent the accident. He disagreed.

But yet he claims the truck merged into him. Looks like the accident has him confused.

The automobile driver got a slew of tickets associated with the accident. The police investigation concluded he was the cause of the entire incident.

There probably were witnesses or a dash cam to save the trucker. I had an accident last year when I had a dash cam and the other driver (cop told me he was a truck driver too) claimed that I cut him off when I merged from interstate. He did not know I had a dash cam before he called cops. Started yelling and cussing when I told him I had a dash cam.

Now a days Truckers need Dashcams when driving because 95% of the time 4 wheelers want to blame the Trucker. I hear it all the time and people never want to believe that the trucker is driving properly whiles 4 wheelers are racing just to get in front of the truck.
