Since this thread was revived.
Unless you're an o/o leased on or whatever.
There's really no reason to not be having direct deposit.
There's also no reason to need a bank that can be found everywhere.
Credit unions work just as good as banks.
They cost less money then banks.
They can do everything a bank can.
And how often does one have to step in to a bank these days?
Other then to get a new card on the spot.
Oh wait. Banks have to mail there's.
Cash rounded out to the nearest cents and put in to savings for atm withdrawals. Atm fee $3. Bank fee $3. The math don't work.
Shop at walmart and add $100 with no fee. Or other stores.
Use cash back credit card.ZVar Thanks this. -

Navy Fed reimburses ATM fees, and everything else you can do on their App.
There is no better bank or credit union than navy fed.. -
Was charged 1$ for fee and 27$ overdraft right off the bat. I got that taken care of and closed account.
I probably did it wrong, but jeez. Seriously crooked bank imo -
Most credit unions allow you to make a deposit in another account in another credit union anywhere. I have had my credit union since 2002. I live in another state and have no issues doing anything out of state except adding a person to account.
Got house loan through them in another state without ever going thereIntothesunset Thanks this. -
Now that anyone can join. I don't know why more people don't.
It would certainly get the banks to lower their standards. Losing people to credit unions. -
For one, some of us do not like or use online banking.
I for one do not like paying atm fees either.
All stores, atm's and most cards have limits on them, what if you want or need to with draw more money than they will let you have??
When atm's first came on the scene, I thought they were the bees knees and quit caqrrying cash. I soon found myself in Dallas on a sunday with no 3.87 cents in cash, something I will remember to my grave, and the first atm I tried printed out my card was damaged, so did the next 8 or so.
Luckily I was on my gold wing and that 3,87 got me back to Marble Falls and home, but I was sweating her before I made it. lol
I have had serious and costly trouble with bank of america, as has my son, and many others, iirc thare has been some major lawsuits that they have had to deal with.
If you have had good luck with them, I hope it holds, but I will not be weak enough to ever give them another try at my pocket book.dwells40 Thanks this. -
