yeah.....And Until Rates start paying accordingly to where guys can put enough money away every 3-5 years for new equipment- This will continue.
    See it all the time-

Poor drivers holding on to aged trailers coming apart at the seams- Don't have money to fix them or buy newer....

What can i say?? Brokers line their pockets first- Shippers looking for the cheapest Bid-

    Just another day in transportation

Bud A. and buddyd157 Thank this.

You see lots of cheap trailers every day, but you don't see that very often, in fact I can not say I have ever seen that in person. I have seen some let go on the road, but mostly hoppers.
I also saw a live bottom fold up in the yard, but it was a newer trailer, they just loade it much too heavy and right in the center.

Bud A. and mhyn Thank this.

I have seen many damages that happened to old dry van during loading and unloading. Something like this I have seen 2 times in my life. Usually after heavy load 2-3 cross members broke down and forklift's wheels can be seen from side. This is epic condition. Most likely they have loaded very big roll papers and the trailer was an old one from northern states.

I have sen a few, and newer ones too that some rivets, huck bolts or what ever was broken out of, to the point that this would maybe happen, but caught before hand.

as I said I have seen something like this twice. In Lancaster ,CA after loading worn out car batteries floor dropped down. Later they reloaded batteries in my trailer and I delivered them in City of Industry, CA . Second broken trailer I have seen in junkyard . It was towed from Nestle Arrowhead water plant - Cabazon, CA.

Seen it happen once to a driver at the Flying J near Texarkana,AR. Trailer was a beat up ex-Cargo Transport dryvan that was overloaded with recyclable paper. Trailer floor started giving way about half of the trailer’s length. The side walls were bulging, the trailer looked like it was ready to burst right there and then.

One time on US 69 on the northwest side of Lufkin TX just before the loop, I saw a flatbed that had collapsed on the driver's side of the deck. He had coils on it. The middle of the trailer on the left side just gave way. He was creeping along at 3 mph into town with a constable following him with flashing lights. Wish I'd taken a picture, but I was so startled that the truck was still moving that it was everything I could do not to swerve over there and run into him.

Agree, totally. The only two lanes I frequent in the deep dark depths of zero thirty et al, are the ones I know. Turn right at the red silo; watch for the T in the road when you see the church with the stained glass windows.

Nope, I'd TOTALLY decrease on the unfamiliars, and tippy toe, myself. I didn't learn this stuff from flying around uncharted territories.

I agree. 'Unfamiliar' was nothing but a 'fake front' (ie: stratagem) ... Yeah I know.. you are correct, man. I didn't get this far from being 'random' tbh.

Gotta sleep soon... sorry it took me awhile to reply; busy weekend with the 'Honey'do's' lol...
