Good story but unfortunately it will probably land on deaf ears for the majority who even have a chance to read it. Its a redundant vicious cycle for the job to get done so they just keep putting a lot of untrained incompetent immigrants in trucking seats. Especially if they can pay the drivers next to nothing because they are new or don't know better. It all becomes systematic especially when it starts from the top of the political scale when a Prime Minister wants legislates Provinces to allow this to occur multiple horrific accidents will just keep happening. A 40 Ton Rig barreling down the road takes a lot of responsibility & driving does require skill sets. To much Government officials turn their heads away from believing this & simply don't care. Now when you factor in the mentality of people from foreign countries who mindsets live in 3rd world conditions (thinking), THEY segregate themselves from others eventually owning Transportation companies on larger scales and allowed to import their own 'Only' hiring their OWN (speaking their OWN language on the job). Also with the Majority lacking basic walking in a straight line coordination skills then thrown in a truck to driver and can't even read or speak English properly. What do you get?

It was a very well written article. While reading it I was reminded of the person who was asking here about tfws. The only thing I don't really like is that the author painted them as victims, as if they didn't just spend 50k to bypass proper channels to immigration

 

In a way, they were victims. But their own fault.

 

Corruption and nepotism are normal ways of conducting business in their own country. They are preyed upon by their own people and they don't know better until they have been here a while. They work long hours in questionable or dangerous equipment and with little or no training or experience. Forced to work months for free or at extremely low rates under harsh conditions and with a culture of circumventing rather than complying with law. Some of these people even have to pay for the privilege.
As Canadians we know that this practice is against the law. They do not.

If anyone is racist, I’ve learned that the Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus etc etc etc are all racist against each other. If you don’t believe me just tell a Sikh he’s Muslim Or Call a Punjabi a Iraqi

BS. they have the internet. You cannot tell me they are ignorant of Internet forums where their brothers tell their experience. The fact is they are willing to do anything to achieve their goals including breaking law and bribing shysters to fasttrack their visas. And many of these shysters are their countrymen.
