    Hello everyone,

Want to know what is your input on an awkard situation I got last night and probably will be fired because of it.

I am a Canadian Driver with just two crossed border trips under my experience belt, both times I cross the US border they gave me a full inspection treatment.

So last night I was schedule to do a 2 days US route, the problem was when I arrived they gave me a dedicated driver truck, the truck was like a little apartment full of stuff of this driver and honestly I was not comfortable crossing the border with the stuff of a person I dont know, also the driver seat was lock low all the way to the floor and I was unable to unlocked it to add air into the seat so I seat high.

Called dispatcher and they were willing to give another truck...so here I already lost 45 minutes, moving in and out my stuff of the first truck, going back to the dispatcher for new paper work and keys.

Went into the second truck and again the sleeper area was full of garbage, like pieces of open carton boxes from amazon and ebay, bubble wrap, coolers that were seal with duct tape etc.

I am not comfortable at all crossing the border with the stuff of other driver I dont know, what if is something illegal on that stuff? Who is going a get into trouble?...of course me.

Took my stuff out of the truck, already lost 2 hours on this stupid transition, I decided to go to dispatcher gave the keys back and told them I was going home, of course dispatcher told me if I do that I will going to get fired....and probably I will.

Talked with the owner this afternoon and he was not happy so I guess this is it for me.

Will you guys cross the border with the stuff of another unknown (to you) driver?

    Thanks in advance

What's wrong with the truck you normally drive?

Personally, I would not do a border cross with someone else's truck. Who knows what is hiding in there.

Hi, thanks for your prompt reply.
I have a different truck every time I go out, the last time I crossed the border with a rental truck, but at least was an empty truck.

When I was younger we used to travel a lot with my family and one gold rule they teach us is to never ever travel with stuff unknow to you, this is why this thread I dont know if is something normal to cross the border with stuff inside your cabin that does not belong to you.

Throw it all out before you leave the company yard.

If it's a true slip seat situation, then every driver should completely clean out the truck each and every time they're finished.
If it remains... Chuck it in the dumpster.
    They wont do it again.

Nope.. I wouldn't cross the border with unknown contents either.

    well what..no dead body..??

i'd never cross any border with a truck load of crap.

i'd either get another one, or start dumping it all onto the ground.

but, if there was a dead body...at least you'd have someone to talk to!

Yep, if they insisted in giving me a dirty truck, I would have opened the door and just started chunking, I could have it yarded out pretty quick. lol

Now even if the truck is clean, it really means nothing if they search it. I let a driver go a few years ago. It was probably a week or longer till a small packet of coke fell out from under the dash.
I ran across his wife a few days later, and he had changed the cb in the truck, mine out and installed his, she wanted it back. I told her to have him come get it, I may just give him his cocaine back when he did too. lol
She told me they wasn't that worried about the cb. lol

99% of the time the border guards are normal switched on regular people. 99.9% even.
Get the wrong one on the wrong day, who finds say one pill from a prescription drug not used by you , and you wont be crossing the border again, ever. And your boss is a dick, because the knock
