Do any of you have first hand knowledge about being able to directly mount 11R22.5 tubeless one-piece Dayton rims (doughnuts) on spoke axles that originally came with 10:00-20 tube type split ring rims. I'm reading that this is possible without altering anything, that they will bolt right up, exactly replacing the 10-20's; however, I can't find anyone around here that has actually done this themselves, just heresay.

Sure can. Direct bolt up, no mods. Just make sure you check your spacer and wedges for proper depth and gaps.

Are you changing over drives or a trailer?

15 years of changing chassis/container tires on the side of the interstate. Weird thing is you never knew what you were gonna get. Sometimes you would find a 11-22.5 next to a 1000-20 on the same dual. They are close to the same outer diameter though I never liked doing the mismatch. mixing radial and bias is a big no-no. Truly amazing these things are still rolling on our hi-ways.

We use to change them with a hand bottle jack and 3/4 ratchet by hand. Before we got a compressor in the road truck. Above all you must true them and tighten evenly to the hub. So many just throw them on and they wave so bad its unreal.

    Good luck with your swap.

'89 Chevy C70, all six are currently 10-20's tube type bias ply w/ split ring wheels. 10-20's are getting harder & harder to replace. I'm looking to replace both the drives & steering with tubeless 22.5's rims and radial tires. I just needed to make sure they would work before investing the $$$.

    Should be straight up swap.

Even new wheels are cheap in steel. 8.25x 22.5 should be.

Compared to the sneakers, yeah, the rims are cheap...Thanks again for confirming that it'll work. Hopefully, it'll ride a little better too..

Yep, direct bolt up, I just gave a set of new 22.5 daytons away. They came with a dry van I bought for storage with 10X20's on it. I would never have swapped them out on a storage van, and have no intention of putting it on the road.

I finally got around to swapping out those rear 10:20 split ring dinosaurs for tubeless 11R22.5's, perfect fit, thanks again to @Goodysnap and @starmac for the help...
