This is what's nice about being with a SMALL company. We can track back, based on last use. To who it was that FAILED to write it up.
So its not like we wont' know if another driver didn't write it up.
ASSUMING the next guy does even a basic PRE TRIP.

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.

If local management wanted to they could easily find out the driver who supposedly did a post trip. But that’s very unlikely. A few weeks ago they had to swing my freight twice in a week because of a trailer that should of been put out of service was loaded. But no one really seemed to care.

    That sucks.
Its also what I REALLY like about my dedicated route. I'm the only one who pulls that trailer, or drives that truck. If something goes wrong, i'm the only one to blame.

Which is why the tractor went into the shop today. For a small air leak, a possible nail in a drive tire and a DOT inspection that was due.

Sadly, I'm also the only one to blame if something gets missed.

Two hour delay. Waiting around for my turn driver who got stuck do to some wild fires that are going on.
That's not the rant though. The rant is that dispatch not only failed to tell me that. But they sent me to the wrong meet spot and gave me the wrong truck number.
Imagine my surprise when some guy walks up and tells.me I'm in his truck.

Gotta love it when Saia and Holland get off the highway in front of me to take a shortcut around traffic, but I know a slightly faster shortcut and end up in front of them.

So with Thanksgiving right around the corner I'm guessing you food service guys are getting ready to get a workout. I was warned about it at work, I was told if I have 3 minutes of time left on my clock it will get used lol.

Never understood what gives everyone the impression truck drivers want to work 14 hours a day. Why can’t we have 8-9 Hour days like dispatchers do? I used to do the 14 hour days. Now my max is 9-10. Usually 8-9 though.

Because our time can be billed.
Not to be too blunt, but dispatchers are dead weight.
