Originally I had a brake pressure light on, warning buzzer and unable to move shifter. Found a bad brake pressure switch on side of master cylinder, replaced it now I just can't move shifter. Does anyone have any suggestions.
    Thanks

With the 4300 here it was a mechanical problem in the shifter itself. I did not work on it personally. Sounded like the results of slaming and baming.

I guess it could be a coincidence the shifter went bad the same time the brake pressure switch broke. It just makes me think the problems are all interlinked.

Most shifters have a solenoid inside them that will unlock the shifter out of park when you hit the brake pedal. I looked through a couple diagrams and I could not find any interlock solenoids, but that doesn't mean they aren't there. Have a look for any wiring going to shifter, this might be for that lock solenoid.

I think you're right, I thought there would be some kind of switch of some kind on it. Tomorrow I'll check it out.
    Thanks Heavyd

Just a follow up, I did fix the problem. Thanks to all who replied. Heavyd there is a solenoid, it's on the transmission. But that wasn't the problem. I'm embarrassed to say, but I removed the handicap ramp in back and failed to reinstall the door switch, so it was giving the bus an open door signal there by not allowing it to go into gear. Oops!
    Once again Thank you

    Heavyd and BoxCarKidd Thank this.
