Do it; you can always go back to the oilfields.
Do you live in New Mexico?
No way in hades I'd work in the oil fields. Don't even want something dedicated. Give me a reefer outfit that's irregular route and I'm happy. Not for everyone, but right for me.

Plenty of chemical tanker jobs will keep you rolling and boredom will be missed! Good money, too. I came from the Llano Estacado to south Mississippi and got into hauling chemicals. Right now resetting my 34hrs in north Texas, returning from Wyoming on my way to Houston for a load going to Georgia. Changing tankers at Quala in Dallas first. Not much of a routine where I'm at.

My last gig was hazmat tankers running 48 states & Canada. Like reefers because there's more night driving.

Hey, if any of my friends on this site ever hear me romanticizing OTR life to the point where I'm going to quit my gig? George and Lenny from Of Mice and Men had a really good system for how to deal with me.

    I’m good on otr.

I wouldn’t mind heading out west to do some paving in the winter when the season is done here but that’s too much paperwork for a couple months of work

I was going to do it a couple months ago but then holly refinery dropped a major carrier and we picked up the work. I've been banking, but like I said, the same day over and over is driving me nuts. And I've never had to leave a good paying gig just because I'm bored sick of it.

Any of you ever hear anything about neier based out of Indianapolis Indiana?? I saw their post, and cant find anything bad, which tells me they cant be any worse than anyone else.

But dont reefers have crazy appointment times, like 9 am one day 10pm the next?? I was flatbed, and I liked how flatbed had somewhat sane appointment times and ETAs,. I miss it, but tanker pays better and have been doing tankers 4 years now. I was doing occasional regional runs hauling spent caustic with my current company and liked it, I showed up, scaled, had the loading done for me, then scaled again and left. And delivery down in Houston was the same deal. But they let another company have those loads a few months ago. Those field trips ment the world to me lol

    FlaSwampRat Thanks this.
