It's not a freak accident when you deliberately follow too closely.
Fortunately, the motorist was not killed, so the log truck driver won't be charged with multiple felonies and the carrier won't be ordered to pay upwards of forty million in damages.NavigatorWife, 86scotty, Woodys and 6 others Thank this. -

Nice goin', that guy better attend the local church of his choice this week,,I'm sure the trucker will get something, not an "official red rag" on the tail end.

Different states have different laws as far as overhang and markings on logs.
In Texas they are exempt, or at least used to be and the logs could overhang 40 ft and be dragging the ground, here it is the normal 4 foot behind the lights, but I get a yearly permit for 10 ft, that has to be marked with one flag in the daylight hours, full light bar after dark.
I built a light bar that is mounted on the back of my trailer and held in place with 2 small spring loaded binders and pinned with the spikes that I drive in the logs to hang it. When not in use it is just an extra set of lights on my trailer, and I do not have to carry it back and forth.NavigatorWife, FerrissWheel, magoo68 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Those logs show no mercy....better pay attention
NavigatorWife Thanks this.
