Any details as to how/why he lost control?
drowsy, drunk, too fast, mechanical?......FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
All you have to do on a steer tire blow out is to hold the wheel enough to keep her straight, both feet on cab floor away from pedals until she settles on the shoulder.
Spilled phone? SPilled coffee? Spilled pokemon game? Spilled anything? Nuclear verdict away! High wind NOAA warning? Refusal to drive and made or corected to drive?
As far as the unsafe there is really only one that matters. Staying awake long enough to make the delivery on time. Anything else gets bad driver fired. (This time just a tired driver)
Two weeks of court and the reporter writing this article has nothing concrete to go on? That leaves only speculation and questions. And some very good WAG from those in the industry. Such things are not very focused or helps to prevent future nuclear lawsuits in this industry.FerrissWheel, Snailexpress and BR-549 Thank this. -
not much came up on details through a google search, however one result popped up that there were 5 fatalities that day on that road in 3 separate crashes with the 18 wheeler included. The reason stated was inclement weather with low visibility. first one was at 530am involved a fleeing vehicle in bad weather fleeing from border control 2 people killed in that vehicle.
second at 1230pm. 2 women in a car sandwiched between 2 18 wheelers during a dust storm. Both killed. then werner accident at 815p killed one. NO details about the crash anywhere. gee i wonder why. These cdl injury lawyers are good at crazy lawsuits. Bad for owner operators. Sometimes accidents happen and if it does, these lawyers will cause you to put your shotgun your mouth
5 killed in 3 separate crashes on I-10FerrissWheel, Bud A., tinytim and 4 others Thank this. -
I am willing to bet they appeal and it gets reduced substancialy, but New Mexico is known for some wild lawsuit amounts, to the point that a lot of businesses would not consider being in the state.
J.S., FerrissWheel, Bud A. and 1 other person Thank this. -
Agreed. Good luck collecting that 40 mill. More likely 3-4 mill if that.
FerrissWheel, Grouch and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Werner will never pay the 40.5 million. I got a dollar that I will bet. LOL This case will be hung up in courts for years to come. The plaintiffs will be lucky if they walk away with 2 millions in their pockets.
FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Whatever happened to the case in Odessa, TX? The lady that actually was at fault for that accident got 90 mil. I know last I heard Werner was going to appeal it. Honestly, I am sorry for those deaths but Werner's name is the reason for these wild amounts of money being awarded..hell that's the reason for the lawsuit itself
Flat Earth Trucker, FerrissWheel and Bud A. Thank this. -
From now on blame every accident on Werner just cause.
D.Tibbitt and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Jesus... 8 days on the job. Poor son of a ##### didn't even know what he was doing yet, and he already got a fatality crash on his DAC
FerrissWheel Thanks this.
