Cargill MEat Logistics in Wichita, KS is a joke. Jeff in safety/recruiting states that they are averaging 2900 miles per week "LIE" . More like 2000. Average $1.40 per mile for ALL miles including DH. Another LIE. More like 80 cpm. You can count on spending atleast 2days between loads. Their reason is, according to dispatch, they have too many trucks and not enough freight. NO FREAKIN KIDDING! Unless you just like abuse and aggrevation, just stay away from these people. I have trucks with other companies, and have been doing this since 1994. This was one of the worst decisions that I have ever made trying to put a couple trucks on at Cargill.

I couldn't agree more. I had the same problem there and when I tried to bring it to their attention they called me a liar and said that they had never stated that pay. I told them it was in their advertisement and they denied that as well . I provided them proof and they say my dispatcher was a lazy sob and it's his fault. They told me the reason I sat for days between loads was because they were short of trailers . I pointed out that I had a trailer and they said they needed that for another driver so I had to wait. My average was 1700 miles per week and pay per mile was about .81 cents. They expect you to do many things for the company on your own dime and find every reason to make excuses on why it's just not their fault that I wasn't making any money. Even after many examples to them, they still wouldn't admit they lied. Do not believe anything these people tell you. This was the worst decision I have made in 17 years signing on with them and I can't believe I gave it a month before I left. BEWARE.

Worked with their brokerage division for 10 years. Not the most carrier friendly company to work for, but that is the nature of the beast when you are working with packing plants. Sometimes product doesn't get ready in time, sometimes stuff breaks down. I have found them to more than fair on the $ side of things, but you have to pick and choose your lanes. Put your trucks in areas where they need them and the dollars flow freely, and there is money to be made. My biggest complaint has nothing to do with the folks in Wichita or the brokerage offices, but some of the plant workers don't give to craps about tearing up equipment. Holes in walls, running over load locks, smashing up bulkheads - you name it, they'll tear it up. Just make sure that the money makes up for it in the end. Which, I have found, it does.

Being that his post was over 2 years ago, and at that time he said he worked there, I doubt it
