I've seen many a doubles on American highways. A tractor followed by a semitrailer followed by a semitrailer converted to a full trailer using a dolly. I've never seen a trailer setup like this, though. I wonder what it's called? This type of truck is featured in a RR sim I play. It looks like a dry-van semitrailer with a 5th-wheel deck of some kind behind the rear doors. I don't know how they even load it with the rear coupling area in the way like this. It looks like this odd doubles truck might be a foreign type since this game is produced in Australia.

Its a variant of a B-train. Very common here in Canada.

B-train: Tandem truck, tandem lead, tandem pup.

Super B: Tandem truck, tridem lead, tandem pup.

Another variation is tridrive truck, tandem lead, tandem pup. I also have seen them in a tridrive truck, tridem lead and a tandem or tridem pup.

B-trains aren't twin 53' though. I don't know the exact dimensions off hand but I'd estimate that the lead's about a 40' and the pup is about 32'.

When the lead is tandem, both axles are behind the cargo portion of the trailer. When the lead is a tridem, the third axle is positioned under the cargo portion of the trailer. They are most common as flatbed or chip trailers but B-train/Super B vans are out there.

I saw somebody made his own hillbilly South Dakota super B with a couple step decks, he stuck a fifth wheel right on the back of the deck of the lead one, 2 53 footers is apparently the right way to haul hay to him.

I have never seen a b-train set up like that game one, with all the axles behind the trailer like that.
Just looking at it, I tend to think it is just something the game came up with, but who knows.

D.Tibbitt, Tb0n3 and Bean Jr. Thank this.
