Woke up to a horn blaring at 430 am... my horn.... when I pushed the button you could hear it change sound so it wasn't the button stuck? Had to unplug it.
Any ideas? Or does anybody know how a 2012 columbia horn is wired?

Change out the horn itself maybe a contact in the horn itself is sticking. All the best to you.

Not sure if this applies to Freightliner but internationals will blow the horn if you leave the truck in gear. Same thing happened to me at 2am while I'm asleep

Water can make the horn go off.

    Omg, first disconnect the horn.

What is going on is the horn negative or ground goes to the switch on the dash, via a long wire. Somewhere between the horn and the horn button is grounding out, broken or insulation is cracked is what the problem is.

When this happens, the horn gets grounded partially and when you push the horn button, it grounds the horn better so you get a different tone.

Could be a issue in the horn button on steer wheel.

    OldeSkool and Farmerbob1 Thank this.

Don't think it's the horn button, when you pressed it it actually got louder and still seemed to work. It's like the horn was getting power elsewhere?

Except you have a bigger problem when you get pulled in for a level one and the inspector asks you to operate your city horn.

    Elroythekid Thanks this.
