I've been out here forever.
Never been to nestle in Dekalb before.
Well wouldn't you know, got sent there yesterday
To pick up a load.
Took 1 1/2 hours just to get to the Gaurd Shack.
That's how many outside carriers were there.
It two lanes going in.
One for outside carriers and one for nestle trucks.
Never seen one of there company trucks come thru
The whole time while waiting.
There company truck lane was empty the whole time.
Now I know why.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Like I said before... The Chicago 1099s killed trucking. I'm not an OO but honestly I don't know how OOs survive.
These 1099s from Chicago haul stuff for 70 cents a mile. How they make money?
They don't pay taxes.
They don't pay for labor.
They steal money from drivers to pay for maintenance.
The only expense they have is fuel.
Sad part is nobody wants or can stop them. They are too powerful and ruthless.Eldiablo, Midwest Trucker, JonJon78 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Sucks when they have a newbie in training also.
Really adds to your day as the trucks line up at the scale to get in or out.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Tough times ahead!!! Lol Tough times behind, Tough Times, Always. Sounds like they’re trying to soften the blow to their Stock price drop, trying to reassure investors that cost cutting is in place.I could care less, Why? It doesn’t affect Me. They can’t compete with Me. Tough times? Compared to what? A rare short spurt of very good times.Tough times in Trucking is the norm. Tired of Megas whining all the time. Competition is Good, bring it on.

When in doubt blame immigrants.
Long FLD Thanks this. -
It is true that the industry is filling up with immigrants because basically no basic understanding of English is needed to drive.
I did it because i had no choice and couldn’t find a job, but I’m about year and a half in already as an owner op.
Yes rates are down big time for the spot market but its not only immigrants thats the issue. Companies last year expanded their fleets, states dont require basic knowledge of English prior to getting a CDL, and adding the fact that capitalism means unlimited competition in theory will bring rates down.
Just saying its not immigrants that cause the issue its the American companies and politicians that wanted this.Last edited: Oct 17, 2019
