Florence Kentucky accident with death

That's not a good death. Maybe he forgot brakes parking. Otherwise I don't see it.

 

That is a painful way to go.....my goodness. I cringed

 

Extremely.

I was almost sliced in half myself at Fort Collins. A examination of such injuries are generally not survivable.

 

Rest in peace driver.

 

The "crash investigator" in me wonders what was happening that got him between the two vehicles. Surely a truck rolling would catch your attention, and common sense would dictate that being in front of the 'roller' isn't the place to be.

It was early afternoon, so darkness wouldn't have been a factor. Was he trying to stop it by hand? People sometimes do crazy things when faced with an urgent situation. Was he trying to get around it to get in the cab and get some brakes on it (this would be my guess)? Was he just in a trance and didn't know where he was in relation to what was happening? In other words, exhausted to the point of being a zombie.

Regardless, it's a horrific tragedy! RIP driver and condolences to family and friends.

 

I buy the zombie mode from being too tired. Ive been there that night in Fort Collins. (I had dropped my empty to load after being washed (Ergo at the wash bay) which was the next spot towalk to on foot to arrange it. I had gotten in front of the dock while the jockey was racing my trailer into it. I felt it more than saw it coming like the shadow of death and jumped for it. So that took care of the zombie.

Several more times people have almost been hit or I have almost been hit because of being over tired and it's such a stupid situation that develops. Which is why I am upset at the rolling TT. It's not parked until it's REALLY parked.

I once had a vehicle a big old bronco get away from me after I forgot parking brake in auction. It idled away downhill towards 4 $100K caddys. My lane boss being a large man, a ox really slammed his shoulder and stopped the thing while I danced into the cab which was like 2 feet up to get it stopped and shut off. Im glad it worked out between the both of us, if I slipped or tripped two of us will die and 4 cars will be wrecked. The previous night I did not sleep well. And there was a price of that.

There are other stories but these two shorts are enough for one morning.
