Gaming for truckers

One thing to keep in mind with those mini-ITX cases is airflow is essential. When you are using it, make sure it's not against anything that limits airflow, like being in a cabinet or even sitting on your bed. Another gotcha is you have to pay attention to the video card length as some physically long cards will not fit.
Other than that, nice case.

 

I'm aware of all of that. I have 4 noctua fans on order for the case, and I'm on the fence right now on whether or not I should go with the stock cooler with my R9-3900X or go with an AIO. I'm looking at g-forces bouncing down the road. The Wraith Spire doesn't seem too big, but it could make a difference, but I'm not sure.

 

Good thing about the Wraith, and most if not all stock coolers any more is they bolt down to a bracket on the motherboard. Should make it very stable in regards to the connection and going down the road. Most AIO's I've seen simply use a retaining clip, or worse removes the metal bracket and uses a plastic bracket.
My Wraith Stealth is very solid on my Asus Tuf motherboard. And the only real difference in the Stealth and Spire is the Spire has a copper core which makes the heat transfer even better. Unless you just want an AIO, I would not bother.

 

I prefer to build my own.

Although I could be looking for a spare at bare bones.

In the WoWs game I switched from the Prinz Eugen which is useless, noise maker and gets sunk as well as being unable to spot nothing important like DD's despite use of the concealment configuration. Scharonhorst is the replacement I bought on sale which has the armor to stand up to anything, fast enough to be a cruiser and guns that can sink almost anything without too much trouble. I don't game much these days. But am focused on certain titles and using what works in a given game whatever it may be. Using the old creed that if you are big enough to kill anything you can catch and get away from anything big enough to kill you. =)

 

Don't do it.. I had my $3,000 gaming laptop in the truck. I didn't like it went back to a laptop.. The Vibration from the truck and roads will do a lot of harm.... Also if u break down u can't take ur computer

Still gotta bring ur screen keyboard plus carrying a overnight bag lol

 

I just finished building my own for the truck. Here is the parts list and some pictures. I had to do some modding of the GPU and PSU to make it all fit. I insulated components of the GPU and PSU with liquid electrical tape. I plan getting a custom back plate made for the GPU and that will be the last thing to do.

Trucks are dusty inside... I would try and filter the intake air somehow.

NVMe is a good idea.

 

Naw...I enjoy the disassembly and cleaning everything. I do that once a month to both mine and my wife's computer. Annoys the piss out of her when I do, but that makes it much more enjoyable.
