I'm a newer female driver working for Schneider. I was dropping a relay for another driver who was physically right there. I was going to back it into a hole but the other driver said I should drop it where I was and he would just grab it and go. Please note that we were in a Schneider only drop lot in Seville Ohio, not at a truck stop or etc, for example. As I was quickly lowering the landing gear I heard a horn beeping. I immediately jumped back in my truck to get out of the way as clearly someone was mad because he had to wait for about 2 minutes (no exaggeration) to leave as I was blocking him -he showed no interest of leaving until after I stopped to drop my trailer. I looked his way to wave in an apologetic way and he was throwing his arms around and flipping me off. When I got out of my truck to finish disconnecting from the trailer I heard him yelling out his window at me. He called me a "#####". I did walk closer to him to grab his truck number to report him and he said "write my name down too, #####" as he pointed to his name on his truck marking he was a million-something mile driver. I told him to calm down and that he shouldn't be talking like that in this day and age. I told him it's not right. He then said "#####es and ####### are inconsistent and shouldn't be driving" (the driver I was relaying my load to was a young African American man). At that point, I ignored his hate and just moved myself away from his area because he clearly wasn't stable-minded and he was still shouting profanities; I became scared. Thankfully he left as soon as the trailer cleared his path. Here's my question: shouldn't I report this person? Common sense tells me that I should of course, but this driver has obviously been with Schneider long enough for them to take his side. I know repercussion is illegal (if you are even able to prove anything, that is), but what could happen if I do make a report? I have his truck number and name. I've read online how trucking companies (especially larger ones) can be very "dirty". I'd love some advice from those with experience in the trucking industry. I don't want to stir a problem that will dishonestly lose me my job. Thank you!

I know what I would have done and it probably would have involved needing bail money. Former Schneider driver here, definitely report him up. @gentleroger has a cooler mind and probably a better disposition on how to deal with that than me though
laaylor, rickybobby, Badmon and 12 others Thank this. -

Audio or video would have been useful.
If your version of events is correct, report the incident.
I wouldn’t put up with it.
Edit - in future, drop the trailer in a designated spot to avoid the whole episode in future.Oxbow, Sisbro, Cattleman84 and 4 others Thank this. -
I'm a man, so my opinion isn't protected by the company or the govt, but I wouldn't call in on a driver because he was mad at me. Some of us had to learn in kindergarten life isn't just one long back rub.

Let it go......you said your piece to him.
Look how the president talks... those words will probably come out of his mouth next.
And southerners often call me a Yankee. Which I wouldn’t call them a rebel .... I don’t appreciate it . All you can do is move on and don’t play on their level..... -
Perhaps this isn’t the 1st time the offensive driver has done this? I’d call it in, get it on record.
Sisbro, plankton, Clara3 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Definitely make a report regardless of the outcome. If you don't try to do something, you both disrespect yourself and make him someone elses problem.
This driver only does what he does because he thinks he can get away with it. I bet he would have a different tone with a football linebacker ! Hes an offensive bully. Don't back down ! -
I guess you could let it go and learn from it.
That’s why I suggested dropping the trailer in a spot, that way the “Million mile ambassador of the company “ doesn’t have a valid reason next time - to behave like a troglodyte. -
don't hold back, report him.
best of luck, and get back to us on this in the future if you can?
