I am driving a 2016 Volvo leased from penske. The stop engine light came on. checked the oil and there was no oil onn the dipstick. Added oil and It was blowing oil
Out of the crankcase breather. Roadside service technician sent out by Penske said to tow it in as it seemed like internal engine problems. Penske and Volvo could not find a fault code. So they done mother but change the oil pressure sensor. I picked it up on 7/12/18 drive it for 600 miles and checked the oil it was not touching the stick. Every time I stop oil was running out of the crankcase breather . It done this every 600 miles for about 2590 miles. Then there was a big boom
In the engine compartment as I was driving on I-70 on indiana. I stop checked the oil and to my suprise it was all the way up to the max level. Keep on mind I only put In one gallon at a time to
Bring it just within the safe level. Appearently the oil seperator was blocked and by adding fresh oil as it was blowing It out, cleaned and unclogged it. For the next 3k it did not use a drop and no stop engine light appeared. Before that every where I stopped I left a huge puddle of oil. It runs fine now .

I had had an oil leak and I thought this was coming out of the hose but actually the gasket between the separator base and engine block was leaking, its rubber type gasket that came apart when I took it the housing off, new gasket was about 20$ and not too hard to do it. Just make sure that old paces of gasket don't fall inside engine. I had about 380,000 miles when this happen.

Remove the hose from the top of the centrifuge canister and put a plug in it.
Take the hose that came in the top originally and extend it to the ground using heater hose..

Copy that. I thought maybe there was a way to put a plate to block off the entire CCV at the engine. I used to do that on my smaller (1.9 VW TDI) Diesel engines. And then run a hose to the ground.

Do they have blockoff plates like that?

I don't know of any company that manufactures one but you can make one pretty easily
