Ok so I will have to change the iva harness on my engine, when removing the valve covers I discovered that what I thought was an MXS engine be ause of the tag on the oil cooler is actually a BXS top end.

In order to remove the oil rail plate to swap the harness, I will have to remove the IVA housings correct?

Also to run the overhead would I do the intake, exhaust and Jake's with the iva housings off then install them and check the lash for the iva?

Doesnt look like I can get to all the valves eith the iva housings in place

To be honest it depends on the chassis. If you have the overhead clearance it is possible but in most cases not. Some just the rear, some the front, and some both.

You can adjust all valves and injectors with the engine brakes/IVA housings in place. I prefer to do it all at once so I only have to bar the engine over twice. But you can do it before and after, too.

Ok, I ask because from my understanding the bxs has the Jake and iva in 2 separate pieces. It also doesnt have the oil bridge tubes like the mxs. I thought the iva housing sits right on the oil passageway in the oil rail housin .

This is on a pete 379 by the way.

Think your right. Been a while since I've seen a BXS and dont get into much yellow anymore.

Probably best to pull them all and check for broken mount studs anyhow.

Bxs you have to set the in/exh and jakes then install the ivas and adjust them. Not enough room otherwise

Thanks, that's what it looked like by just looking at it.

Would you happen to have the torque specs to reinstall the iva housing and the lash measurements?

    Intake is .015
    Exhaust is .030
Jake is .027 , I usually run it a bit looser at .030
Injector is 3.07 +- .01 inches machined ledge to the top
    IVA is .020
    All in inches.

No listed torque on the ivas. I'm pretty sure its just 3/8 nuts? 35-40ftlbs
I know it says torque turn but before that they were always around 85ftlbs
