5-year-old girl dies in crash that threw her from sleeper berth
Mom had to be distracted to not see the divider that tore the cab from the frame.
RIP child, may your next life be less traumatic.

Very sad about the little girl, but the rest of them are very lucky to come out of that mess alive.

Yeah - didn't need that right now.
RIP.
From watching the video, it appeared there was 4 chains holding it down. Would you not cross chain the front just in case?Last edited: Oct 21, 2019
Reason for edit: Securement note.NavigatorWife, Flat Earth Trucker, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would have laid a piece of rubber matting under the front edge. Yet it doesnt help if the driver cant see they are about to hit an obstruction like a concrete barrier.
NavigatorWife and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Wow, three kids in the truck!!! Talk about a distraction.

Bad deal.NavigatorWife, lovesthedrive, FlaSwampRat and 1 other person Thank this. -
That is about 40 feet solid aluminum maybe a little less. 3 feet high and around 5 feet wide.
If a force like hitting that barrier makes it move forward, it will have the mass and inertia to knock God off his throne. Anyone in that cab is at risk of being smashed.
Ive hauled them out of a mill west of Frederick Md Before power issues and costs closed the mill down. Lancaster PA took them in off 30 for production. There is no real chaining those. Best you can do is toss a number of chain on it and do not hit anything. There is no securement possible if you did.
Regarding the kid, thats something you don't wish on anyone. No wonder that block took everything above the frame.Studebaker Hawk, NavigatorWife, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this.
